Ashiana’s first workshop supporting women from refugee and humanitarian backgrounds will be held on Saturday, 4 May 2024 at CYRIL JACKSON SENIOR CAMPUS in Bassendean.
This is the first of three workshops which will be run by Ashiana in 2024 with the support of funding from the Department of Communities WA as part of their Women’s Grants for a Stronger Future, which we were proud to announce on International Women’s Day this year.
Our first workshop will be focused on themes of connection, sharing, celebration, and learning. With the isolation and struggles often faced by women from refugee and humanitarian backgrounds, we aim to create a safe space for women to meet so that they can:
- share their needs and concerns
- form part of a group that provides mutual support and understanding
- celebrate the often untold stories of resilience and achievement shown by women in their families and communities
- identify opportunities to access support in the Perth community.
